EA Access members on the Xbox One are in for a treat as EA has added their Star Wars themed shooter from last year to it’s fast growing catalog.
If you are a subscriber to EA Access you can now explore the multiplayer content it has to offer, note that the DLC maps for the game have to be bought separately as you only gain access to the base game.
Timing of the launch
Star Wars: Battlefront released last year in close proximity to the launch of the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens to further maximize its impact, and today’s EA Access launch seems to be following in the same tracks, as the newest Star Wars movie Rogue One is to be released tomorrow in theaters.
The recently released DLC pack to the game, Rogue One: Scarif is also tied into the new movie, including maps and characters from the upcoming movie along with new vehicles and weapons.
The game features multiple maps set on different planets in the Star Wars lore with drivable vehicles, large 40 player battles and even playable special characters from the movies such as Darth Vader and Han Solo.
As a much-requested feature, the Death Star DLC also added space battle maps where the players must battle around and inside the Death Star which may or may not end with it exploding.
With Star Wars: Battlefront joining the EA Access roster, the subscription service now boasts almost 40 games. Xbox One owners have the opportunity to play EA’s most popular games such as the Mass Effect Trilogy, Battlefield 4, EA Sports titles and as well as newer games such as Mirror’s Edge Catalyst.
Subscribers also get trials to EA’s upcoming games before their release to try out and a 10% discount on all EA games in the Xbox Store. All this is available to Xbox One owners for just $5 a month or $30 a year. With EA adding more and more games to its roster, the value of the bundle doesn’t seem to be going anywhere but up.
For now, there seems to be no confirmation on whether Star Wars: Battlefront will also be added to Origin Access, the PC counterpart of the Xbox One’s service.
