The latest Sniper Ghost Warrior has hit another delay, this time only a few weeks away from its release. The Polish developers have announced that Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 will now launch on April 25th, 2017.
CI Games originally revealed Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 back in 2014, with an early 2016 release date. That launch window quickly came and went with the announcement of a January 2017 release taking its place.
However, later in 2016, CI Games again pushed back the game, from its January plans to the 4th of April.
Let’s hope that the third time’s the charm as now – at least according to the developers – Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is delayed for one last time and will launch on April 25th, 2017.
A beta consisting of two single player missions – Cut Off and Blockout – from the beginning of the campaign is the reason for this delay, according to the developers.
The two-day PC-exclusive beta ran from the 3rd to 5th of February and provided the developers with quite a lot of feedback. The developers require some extra time to further optimize the game for release based on the feedback from the beta.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3
As a first for the franchise, the game features an entirely open world for players to explore. Players have the choice of three distinct ways of playing the game this time – Sniper, Ghost, and Warrior.
Essentially providing a wide assortment of methods to complete the missions that take place in Georgia during a civil war. These range from close-quarter stealth approaches and action movie style gun battles to completely annihilating the opposition using powerful sniper rifles.
With Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, the developers are trying to turn around the franchises’ history of lackluster reception from critics. Although if previous games’ sales numbers are anything to go by, the game is looking at a very successful release.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is now launching on April 25th for the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 platforms. Furthermore, anyone that pre-orders the game will receive its season pass without any additional cost. A good thing to keep in mind for anyone interested in the game.
