Ubisoft is giving their popular tactical shooter Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege a free weekend for everyone to try out. The free event will take place on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 platforms from February 2nd to the 5th.
According to Ubisoft, during the event, players do not need to worry about unlocking any of the game’s multiple Operators; all of them will be available for use in the free weekend without needing any purchases or grinding for XP. Also, as the game’s maps and modes are free anyway, no one will miss out on any of the content.
Additionally, all progress from the free weekend will carry over to the full game for players that buy it. In fact, the 50% off sale that Siege will have during the event is presenting a great purchasing opportunity.
Accessing the free weekend
While the event is free to all platforms, keep in mind that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players will require Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus subscriptions to have access to the free weekend. Afterward, console players can go to the game’s product page on their respective platforms to download the game for free.
UPlay and Steam users, however, will have the game already available on their libraries when the free weekend begins. Thus they can start downloading as soon as the event goes live and play the game immediately.
For anyone on the fence about it, we think this is a great time to get into Rainbow Six Siege. Considering the amount of support Ubisoft has given for the game since its release, with constant gameplay updates, new operators, and plenty of free content.
Lastly, remember that Ubisoft will be unveiling the gameplay demo for the new Velvet Shell expansion in the upcoming Rainbow Six Invitational event that also takes place on the 2nd of February to the 5th, same as the free weekend event’s dates.
