Gears of War 4 gets limited edition Xbox Bundles, controllers, and more

Gears of War 4 is only a few days away from an exciting Xbox One and Windows 10 release. Microsoft is clearly betting big on this one, and the marketing is in full swing.

Besides the free copy that you get with NVidia’s GTX 1070 and 1080, Microsoft has made some great bundles for the Xbox One, and a few new limited edition controllers.

The New Gears of War 4 Xbox One S Bundles

The Bundles

Microsoft announced the Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Limited Edition 2 TB Bundle back in July – it features a beautiful red theme with a matching controller, exclusive in-game items, and the season pass. All of that starting from 449$.

However, today, Microsoft is adding two more bundles in the pit of offerings. The Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Bundle and the Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Special Edition Bundle.

The Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Bundle comes with a standard 1 TB Xbox One S – it’s simply the good old ‘robotic white’ that the One S launched with at E3. You also get a standard copy of Gears of War 4.

The Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Special Edition Bundle is a deep blue Xbox One S with 500 GB of storage. The controller also shares the same beautiful deep blue colour. The Bundle comes with a standard copy of Gears of War 4.

Moreover, for a limited time, anyone who buys these bundles has a chance to get the entire Xbox 360 Gears of War collection for Xbox One at no extra cost.

The bundles sure look like a great deal, especially if you manage to get the Gears of War collection with them.

More about pricing and availability below.

The Controllers

In addition to the bundles, Microsoft has also made a few Limited Edition Xbox One controllers. One of them is an Xbox Elite Controller with customizable buttons and two extra back buttons.

The JD Fenix Limited Edition Controller features a laser-etched design based on JD Fenix’s Armor from Gears of War. A glossy metallic accent and textured grip give the controller some nice weight as well. You also get a unique multiplayer lobby banner and three Gears packs with special in-game items.

Xbox Elite – Gears of War 4 Limited Edition is one of the best-looking controllers you could possibly buy. The Elite Controllers were built by Microsoft to offer an enhanced experience – they feature a customizable D-Pad, interchangeable thumb sticks and they even come with two extra buttons on the back that you can customize at your will.

The Crimson Omen Limited Edition Controller features the classic Gears of War red design with laser-etched battle scars and a metallic D-Pad. Similar to the JD Fenix Controller, this one also comes with a unique multiplayer lobby banner and three Gears packs with special in-game items.

Pricing & Availability

The pricing and availability are different for many of these products, so this might get a bit long.

The Consoles

Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Bundle, which is the standard bundle (but comes with a 1 TB hard disk) costs 349$ and will be available worldwide from October 11th. You will also get a digital copy of Gears of War 4 – unless you buy the bundle at GameStop, where you will get a physical copy. The physical copy does not come with Xbox Play Anywhere, so you won’t be able to play on your Windows 10 PC with this copy.

Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Special Edition featuring its beautiful blue theme will only be available for sale in the U.S. and Australia starting from November 1st.
In the U.S., the Special Edition Bundle is available for purchase exclusively at GameStop and Microsoft Stores. Customers will also get a physical copy of Gears of War 4.
In Australia, the bundle is available exclusively at EB Games and Microsoft Stores. Instead of a physical copy, customers will get a download key for Gears of War 4 in Australia.

Both of these bundles are available for pre-order right now from their respective stores.

Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Limited Edition 2 TB

Finally, we get to the Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Limited Edition 2 TB Bundle announced in July. This one sells for 449$ and comes with the Crimson Omen Limited Edition controller.

Instead of the standard edition, you get Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition, with the Season Pass and six Gear packs. On top of that, you also get a few exclusive in-game items.

However, the bundle isn’t available worldwide. These are the countries where you can purchase the bundle for a limited time – until the supplies last.

The Controllers

JD Fenix Limited Edition Controller with its laser-etched blue armour design is available for purchase right now for 75$.

Crimson Omen Limited Edition Controller is also available for purchase right now at the same 75$ price. It also comes bundled with the Gears of War 4 Limited Edition 2 TB bundle.

The Xbox Elite Gears of War 4 Limited Edition controller retails for a whopping 200$ price tag. It sure looks nice, but whether it is worth that price depends on how big of a Gears fan you are.

Microsoft sure is putting a lot of their weight behind Gears of War 4. All of this custom hardware doesn’t come cheap – and some of the prices reflect that. Though, for a Gears fan – that shouldn’t matter much.
