AMD and NVidia have released their respective GeForce and Radeon game-ready optimized drivers for the Mafia III and Gears of War 4 PC release.
The new drivers give improved performance for both of these games; both drivers also have a few performance improvements for Shadow Warrior 2 as well, which is releasing on October 12th.
NVidia’s latest 373.66 WHQL drivers can be downloaded from here – or you can use the GeForce Experience app to download and install the latest drivers.
AMD’s Radeon Crimson Edition 16.10.1 drivers can be downloaded here, along with the patch notes – or you can update the drivers via Steam, or the Radeon software itself.
Gears of War 4 developers – The Coalition – have written up an extensive guide on Gears of War 4’s PC performance. The guide covers everything – from the different graphics settings to performance across a whole range of graphics cards. NVIdia also made a guide which includes some other NVidia-specific features, but The Coalition’s guide does a much better job in helping you figure out the performance for the game.
Mafia III, on the other hand, released with a disappointing PC port. The game is locked at 30 FPS at the moment, but the developers – Hanger 13 – are working hard on a patch to enable more PC options, and expect to release it by the weekend.
They have also issued a statement, which can be found over here. This patch was intended to be released as a day-1 patch, but something clearly went wrong.
